In memoriam of Joy Johnson - 8th June 1972 to 29th June 2021

ALWAYS MISSING JOY…and the never ending circle of how grief creeps up on you, knocks you over, then buggers off.

I can pass a restaurant or other place special to us, remembering what it meant to us and not feel a thing. Then, I can pass the same place 10 minutes later and be absolutely floored, tears streaming down, thinking about the great times we had there, and wishing she was back so we could visit again.

She was taken far too young. Even before the short time period the doctors said she had left. She’d been through a lot, suffered enough. I guess her heart just thought “I’ve had enough now” and that was that.

I miss her laugh, her love and support, the mundane things we did together and the big things we looked forward to (I’m glad I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in New York, just like we planned). I hope I make her proud.
